Laura is a Master’s student in Industrial Engineering with a focus in Human Factors and Health Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Laura joined the Werner Lab in the Fall of 2018 as an undergraduate student to work on the HelpCare Connect (HCC) project team. As a graduate student, Laura continues to support the development of HCC, an online resource to help minimize the burden and stress associated with informal caregiving of persons with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Her main research interests include connecting human factors engineering with dementia caregiving. She hopes to be able to make an impact on the delivery of health care to patients by ensuring it is patient-centered and safe.

Outside of Werner Lab, Laura stands as the elected Membership Chair for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society UW-Madison Student Chapter, where she manages the membership roster to ensure it’s up to date and aids with the recruitment of new members. In her free time, Laura enjoys running and watching the NBA.
