Credentials: B.A. Psychology
Position title: PhD Student in Industrial and Systems Engineering
Anna is a first year PhD student in Industrial and Systems Engineering, with a focus in human factors. She is interested in the intersection of design, technology, and health care systems.
Anna graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in psychology, which initiated her interest in human-centered design and research. She formerly worked as a research analyst for Mayo Clinic’s Health Systems Engineering team, conducting studies on musculoskeletal health risks in surgical teams and usability of robotic surgical systems. In 2019-2020 she completed a Fulbright with the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden on the physical and psychological demands of home health workers. Anna is excited about joining the Werner Lab to continue exploring the field of human factors and finding ways to support health care workers and patients.
When not in a lab, Anna’s favorite things to do include camping on Minnesota’s north shore, enforcing fika (long Swedish coffee breaks), running, and chasing the perfect ice cream cone.
