Credentials: M.S. Industrial and Systems Engineering, B.S. in Biomedical Engineering
Position title: PhD Student in Industrial and Systems Engineering
Hanna (they/them) is a third-year graduate student passionate about designing systems and technologies that really work for people, by aligning people, their behaviors and actions, with what really matters to them. As a PhD student in the lab, this looks like contributing primarily to the @HOME project, which uses human factors and systems engineering methods to support families caring for children with medical complexity.
Holding a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with certificates in Gender and Women’s studies and Honors Biology, Hanna takes a special interest in crossing disciplinary boundaries to design compelling, effective, and human-centered futures. Particularly, they see human factors and systems thinking as unique tools for working toward a more just world, by getting to the root of systemic challenges and disparities and re-designing systems to deliver personalized, relevant, and safe care for everyone.
Beyond their academic pursuits, Hanna enjoys being in community and practicing radical care.
