HelpCare Connect

HelpCareConnect

  • Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS), which are universal in moderate to severe Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) are associated with increased stress, burden, depression, and reduced quality of life for caregivers, and higher rates of institutionalization for the AD patient.

  • Effective management of NPS requires coordinated and individualized care approaches consisting of specific individualized tasks, routines, and environmental arrangements that mitigate individual symptoms.

  • Most of this care is delivered by informal caregivers (caregivers) who are often isolated from each other, from their families, and from care teams in the current fragmented care system.

  • To address this gap, we are developing HelpCare Connect, an app and a website that would improve caregiver inter-connectivity and overall caregiving experience.
